Where I write

QOTW: What's your ideal work environment?
My favorite place to write this year was in my daughter's fifth grade classroom. She has a very understanding teacher who lets me sit in the back of the room and sketch the kids or work on my projects.
The energy keeps me awake.
The kids and teacher keep me accountable (they know I'm working on the next book).
The math keeps me alert and educated.
And every once in a while I'm called on to give a writer's perspective to an English lesson.
It's perfect.

Alas, my daughter's moving on to 6th grade in a new school next fall (just like Ellie McDoodle!), and my teacher friend is retiring. I'll lose my favorite workspace. :( Maybe I'll start biking to the library or a coffeeshop or something.
I'd work at home in my studio but there are sooo many distractions.

Actually, I didn't work at the school as much as I should have this year.

But I did get very good at Snood. :/
